Time just gets away from you in December, doesn't it? I have absolutely no idea how it's already the middle of the month and only a week and a half until Christmas. Somewhere amongst all those cookie swaps and holiday get-togethers I have completely lost track of how fast this month can move.
Thanks goodness for make ahead appetizers that are easy and you can take anywhere. This is my go-to thing to make and take almost anywhere I'm invited during the month of December. It only takes a few minutes to put together and it can be made a day or two in advance. The only tricky part is to remember to get it back out of the fridge when it's time to leave.
Christmas Cheese Ball
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 green onions chopped (green tops only)
1 jar (2 oz.) diced pimientos, drained
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in cheddar, onions, pimientos, butter and Worcestershire sauce.
Shape into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve, at least a couple of hours.
Serve with your favorite crackers.
